Home Sweet Home

It has been cloudy for 6 days and raining for the last 4. It is August in Atlanta, Georgia and should be 102 not 72....I am not complaining I am loving it. It is remnants of that storm Faye...still. Don't I sound like I am married to a weather man. I am. He is not the kind you see on TV. He does all that computer and satellite stuff and briefs pilots. He is in the Air Force but has worked for the Army the last 6 years(the Army does not have a weather career field so it's Air Force people that get stationed at Army bases to do it) so his job is called a Battlefield Weather Forecaster. Well this morning after I got home from the gym I started a little pot of Home Sweet Home and now my house smells wonderful.

Sauce pan of water
ground cinnamon
ground cloves

Heat to almost a boil and then simmer. You can leave this on all day...just remember to keep an eye on it and add water when needed. MMM Enjoy!

I would have loved to have been at your house visiting with you today girl! I bet it did smell yummy! I gave all the ingredients to make a simmering potpourri to our neighbors, teachers, friends...last Christmas. I use the peel of a lemon, orange and cinnamon sticks and cloves in mine. Are you in the mood for fall now? I bet you had all your lamps on since it was cloudy today, hu?!? xo, Les

They say that is one of the best scents to sell a house...they tell you to do that exact thing. Thanks for the reminder...I love to burn Yankee candle tarts...especially clean linen. cherry

Enjoy your rain! :) I remember when we lived in Maryland, it was so hot and sunny all summer, we actually loved it when it was cloudy/raining! Now that we live back home near Seattle, I think if it rains one more day, I might go mad! :)

Tomorrow I am going to try your little recipe with the cinnamon and cloves!

I hope you're having a great week! :)

Jealous of the rain, I don't remember the last time in rained here in Utah. I'm going to have to try your potpourri mix, it sounds like it would smell wonderful.
