Still a fun weekend...

Alabama 41 Georgia 30....ouch!

On Friday evening I had fun making these Harvest themed cards while watching the debate. On Saturday, I thought it would be fun to make a matching stitchery pillow while we all gathered in front of our TV, to watch our very anticipated blackout Georgia game. Man did we suffer through that one! At least I have this cute pillow to show for it.

I found this fun idea for Tiny Pies over on
scribbit today and had to try it! Aren't they cute.
I just prepared my apples like I would for and apple pie, put them in little dishes, topped with a crust and there you have it.

I did not have a pre-made crust on hand so I made one.
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
water as needed

My mom always did this with the
leftover pie crust...roll it, cut it,
sprinkle it with cinnamon and sugar
then bake it.....mmm.

Totally love that little pillow!! And those mini pies are just so cute! Good for you for making your own crust- I am scared of pie crusts. My Mom always did that with leftover pie crust too!!

Looks like BOTH our teams had a rough weekend...but your cards, pillow and apple pies look GREAT!

Despite everything, the blackout effect looked cool in the stands!

We were in shock Saturday night too! So glad we did not make the trip to Athens, we had our bags packed and ready to go if our friend up there could get us tickets. That deal fell through, and we stayed at home to watch the bloodbath. You definitely used your time better than I did! I just sat on my couch like a lump and yelled at the TV! Love the pillow and cards...and your pies look yum-o!

Hi Jeni~
Oh, my goodness! That pillow is ADORABLE! You are so talented! Do you just make your own patterns of what you want to stitch and just have at it? Is it really difficult, because you sure having me thinking with all your pillows! :) I have never done it before, but I am definitely going to have to give it a try, maybe the next time we're watching a movie! :)
