Today was my first...

MAMMOGRAM! Today's appointment has been on my calendar for 3 agonizing months. When I walked in the lady said forget everything you have heard about mammograms...she knew it was my first. She was right! It was a little uncomfortable but nothing to whine about at all! My Dr. said by the age of 35 you need to get a baseline mammogram done. If all is well with this first one then you can go on with you business until age 40.

Jeni - I am so proud of you! My "real" job is in Radiation Oncology, I am a radiation therapist/dosimetrist and I see breast cancer patients everyday. Prevention is definately the cure, and you are being a VERY good role model for your daughter, neices, aunts, sisters, and friends. Congratulations!

I am glad it isn't as bad as we have heard! I like how you are a "get it done" kind of gal!

I hate that at our AF base they won't see me until I'm 40 and my Mom died of breast cancer. They are so wrong in what they are doing to me... I deserve to get preventative screenings darn it! I'm glad they had you go in. I will pay out of pocket for one before we move. Sad that is the way it is, but I am thankful we can afford to pay. So many women can't and that breaks my heart...
Proud of you Jeni! xo
